How is the call quality of VoIP? What are the best providers? I am thinking about switching from Cox to a VoIP provider. I have had Vonage and Sunrocket. I loved Vonage, but then I heard about Sunrocket and it was cheaper, so I switched. Sunrocket was horrible, so I switched back to Vonage and it was really bad. I switched back to Cox and that is what I have right now. I am thinking about AT&T Callvantage, but they don't have an agreement to transfer numbers from Cox. Would it be worth it for me to transfer my number from Cox to Verizon and then to Callvantage or should I find another VoIP provider? If you think I should find another provider which one should I switch to? I live in Rhode Island.

Questions about VOIP Providers, Service, Quality, & Tech Questions? I'm considering changing my regular home phone service (phone co.) to Cable Telephone (Comcast) or possibly a VoiP service like Skype or Sunrocket. Comcast says a big advantage of their service is the battery backup which keeps the service available for 8 hours if power goes out. Otherwise I think it's just the same as having the regular phone service - no special phones, all extentions work, etc. Skype & Sunrocket are a LOT cheaper, but are they better? Worse? Some questions about VOIP services before I take the plunge: With VoiP will I totally lose phone service if my power or my internet connection goes out? Even though we have cable internet, sometimes it is really, really slow. How would that affect a VoiP phone service like Skype? I'm sure you'd lose service if power fails, or if your computer or modem craps out. Has this been a problem for you? Do all your existing extentions work? Is sound quality great? Other advantges or disadvantages? THANKS!!

I am living in Ireland and my girlfriend is living and studying in Germany, She has no access to a landline as no public phones receive calls over there, so must ring her mobile,I currently use nonoh to ring her for 8cent a min, is there a cheaper or maybe even a free way to make these calls?
I need help with voip providers? I do massive amounts of volunteer work. I need a provider that will. Provide Wi-Fi service lAllow me to make and recive from land lines as well as cell phones. I am running into the problem that who ever is calling or I am calling must also be signed up with the provider. Most of the people I deal with are lucky to have running water let alone a computor or home phone. I would also like a provider who can handle my out and incoming faxes. I send out forms for free medical, dental, emergancy housing assistance, legal, the list is endless I have read so many reviews I am lost.I use only my computor, and a head set. My cell if urgent. Thank-You Railhaven Do not include Vonage. I need to be able to download the program.
Best Voip Providers? Am just wanting to know who do you think provides the best voip service. I am only looking at one of the top up kinds, from my credit card, as i wouldn't use one of the monthly plans enough to warrant that kind of service My calls will be from Thailand to Australia. Am interested in very good sound quality. Thanks to anyone who can guide me to making a good chose
How do I configure an unlocked vonage PAP2 phone adapter to work with Acanac VOIP provider? I have Acanac voip service and I was told I could purchase my own phone adapter. I saw a Linksys PAP2 adapter at a very good price that is unlocked and is suppose to work with Acanac. I can't configure it to work. Acanac recommends Sipura ATA-2100 or 2102. They only give support on an ATA adapter. I have tried logging on to the IP address of the adapter but none of the usual IP addresses associated withe Linksys products that I know will work. Somebody please help. Thanks.
Does anyone know how to get VOIP to work with Dish Network DVR? I have just signed up for VOIPforLife (voice over internet service life Vonage). I have a DSL line from Verizon. The VOIP is working great on the one phone I have plugged into the phone adapter. I didn't realize until today that my DSL is carried throughout the house over the same lines that voice is. I went to the NID box and tried to isolate the inside wiring and of course lost the DSL. I could buy a wireless set of phones to carry voice throughout the house, but I have a DIsh Network DVR (like TIVO) that needs a dedicated phone connection. I have a couple of options, I could isolate the DSL from the rest of the house by splitting the phone jack by the phone adapter, but I'm not 100% sure that the VOIP provider is honest in saying that the jacks are parellel jacks. Is there any way to provide a "wireless" phone jack for my DVR reciever? It seems like the latter would be the easiest way to put one phone jack in a different room.
How do I set up a small VOIP business? Hi, I'm an intern with a small company who's contract with a VOIP provider has ended. We're looking into setting up our own VOIP systems because our VOIP provider has been giving us less than proper service. As an intern, I'm given the task of finding out how to achieve this, but I have absolutely no idea where and how to start. The net doesn't really offer anything except adverts on VOIP business plans on VONAGE, which is completely irrelevant... What do you need to set up your own VOIP system to offer for commerical use to the public? Some kind of server? What about softwares? Any help, will be greatly appreciated.
Any good Broadband internet provider for VoIP? A month ago, I signed up for a VoIP, and dropped the homephone+DSL service from Verizon to just dryloop Verizon. But over the past month, Verizon has been giving me troubles to postpone the completion of the installment (from billing problems to technical problems). And now I still don't have phone or internet access at home, even though I am still paying monthly charges for the VoIP. So my question is other than Verizon dryloop, is there any other providers who can support my VoIP? I heard that AT&T can't do dryloop, is that true? What about cable, how much is it?
Can anyone find a firm that offers local VOIP numbers in Ukraine? I have relatives in Ukraine ad calling is expensive. In many countries you can get a local phone number through a VOIP service provider and call international just like calling locally. I would love to get a number for Sevastopol, but almost any city VOIP number is likely to be less expensive than calling direct. Thanks!
VoIP service providers? I'm looking for an unlimited plan for a small business, I work from home as a call center agent and I don't want to run into an issue with a company freaking out if I go with a residential plan. I am also hoping to find a plan that includes unlimited calls to Europe. Any suggestions on a company that has good rates and excellent sound quality would be apprciated. I have read people who used their phone alot had the company contact them and accuse them of using a residential line for business purposes, even if they weren't. One man said that his kids were on the phone pretty much 24-7 and they started billing him all these extra charges when he had unlimited calling.... I don't want to run into that myself.
Can I use IP phones on my internal network without VOIP service? I need a pbx style phone system in my business but I dont have the funds for a traditional system. I have a wired/wireless ethernet system already installed throughout my business and was wondering if there was a way to use IP phones through the network internally without an outside VOIP service provider?

I want people to be able to dial into a certain # and get options as press one for me press two for someone else and press three for someone else. A good, reliable VOIP provider in Alberta, Canada? We are so fed-up with Telus that we look into a new phone provider. Unfortunately neither Shaw nor Rogers home phone are available in our rural area...yet! Who would recommend a good VOIP provider. We do not care about pricing but rather features and especially sound and call quality!! We'd like to use a provider where the calling experience is similar to a landline/ digital phone, with the least external noise and dropped calls or echo. Again, we don't care about the cheapest deal but the most reliable one. Who has experience with the Rogers Internet Phone Service?? Thanks! I probably should have mentioned that I DO have Shaw high speed internet. Internet and TV is provided by shaw, but not phone services. So I am looking for VoIP only
Indian VOIP provider ? I am looking for a VOIP provider in India who will get me a Indian phone number. Most of provider I found only let you dial out, or provide numbers from other country. I am looking for Indian phone number so my friends from India can call me. Some of them are not technology friendly. I was kind of thinking that it's still illegal and I can find lot of companies providing outgoing lines from India.

They promise me my land line number 3 times but after more than one week, i still have not got it. They promise to email me.. but never happened. They promise to call me... and also never happened. VOIP Calls - which one is good? Yahoo VOIP calls are the best competitive. For example, they charge USD .079 to India whereas Skype charges USD .154. Do you know any other VOIP providers who offer better rates?
What VOIP provider is reliable and works with Faxes? I initially used Sun Rocket and was fairly pleased with them until they went belly up. I was able to send fax's out, but not receive them. After they went out of business I switched to VOIP.com but haven't been really happy. They are OK, but not as good as Sun Rocket was. Fax is out of the question and VMWI hardly works on the phone when there is a message. I have been doing some searching on the internet and get really mixed reviews; some people hate Vonage - other love them. I have been considering Vonage, VOIP Your Life; Voice Pulse or ATT's Call Vantage. Does anyone have a strong recommendation?
Pennytel VOIP - Australia? Hi Has any of you used this company. They are one of the many VOIP providers in Australia. I have ordered an Analog Telephone Adaptor from them, but they cashed the money and I haven't heard or received anything yet. When I ask they tell me it will be sent next week. Their customer service is no help at all, has any of you had any experience with these people? How did you find them ? Thanks Jeff. They showed the Linksys as "in stock" when I ordered, but what upsets me is their customer service is really bad. They answer with monosyllables and seem not to care. As soon as I receive the ATA I will be switching to a different provider, their ATA is not locked.
Cheapest VOIP to India? Currently tpad.com is offering 0.065$ to India. They even allow Break-in calls using which even from India anybody can call us by calling a Mumbai number and then followed by our tpad account number. No need of a computer for this. Is there any other cheapest VOIP providers available? Don't need betamax clones, they are real cheaters. Lost so much Euros and they don't have customer service at all.
VOIP Question? My VOIP provider (VOIP.COM) has blocked all outgoing TOLL FREE numbers. But the long distance and local calling are still fine. Do any body know any provider that offers a free calling system?
Use VOIP phone with landline phone jack? I am terminating my VOIP provider service due to poor call quality and am left with a $200 four handset VOIP phone set. I have a landline at home and was wondering how to use my VOIP handsets with an analog landline phone jack. Or are those phones now garbage? Anyone with experience with this? Thanks! Good news! my phones are standards based and not locked to a VOIP provider. I plugged it into an analog phone jack and it works great as a landline phone!! Thanks every one for great info.
