What is the average unit cost per phone for a 5 - 50 unit VOIP setup? I'm getting ready to contract out the installation of a VOIP phone system in our offices. Initially we need 10 units, but will need to expand up to 50 within the next 2 years. On average, what should I expect the initial install and future upgrades to cost? Ideally, I'd like to break this down to a per unit cost, which I know will be higher with fewer phones and lowers as the cost is deferred across more phones. Thanks

How VoIP works? How entire VoIP system works beside that analog-digital signal conversion and transmission. What type of device would I need to use my Magic Jack(VOIP) phone line to fax with on a standard FAX Machine? I currently have a Panasonic plain paper fax and copier as well as my Lexmark All in one Printer/Fax. I really want to be able to utilize both of my fax setups here at home, but I am aware that Im using a Digital (VOIP) phone line versus an analog fax machine as well as a V.90 56k modem. I can either use my V.90 56K modem through the computer or use my fax machine, which both of them will dial out the number of the other party; but the other partys FAX machine does not recognize the digital signal, so it fails to go through. I have done some research on the problem at hand, I read up on something called an ATA box; but im not sure if thats going to solve my problem or not. I need something thats not to exspensive that will work for home office use. I am running Windows XP service pack 3, and I am using Clearwire Wireless internet access. I understand that using wireless connections arent good either for what im trying to do, but surely it can be done i would think. Please help. Thanks, Clifton I have two more questions. 1. Would I be able to still use my Magic Jack, and would it still be kept hooked up the way it is to my computer like im using it now? Which I would assume the fax machine would be hooked up seperatly and have its own number right? 2. Does the device you mentioned also act as a regular router as well?, and does this ATA device need another program or provider for it to have its own number for the fax machine to run without using the number that Magic Jack provided me? I really need to know how to set up all that up if I was to buy that device. I have one other thing that I need to know. How can I go about making the router part wireless? I may endup sharing my internet connection with my mother soon, but I really dont want to have to run any wires, is there any way around that, like an adapter I can use for the router part of it? or do they make a wireless version?

Small home office phone system? Hi my setup in the house so far is 2 telephone lines 1 for calls 1 for fax and a 4mb broadband , i will be starting my own buisness and was looking to get a phone system like big companies have "press 1 to sale press 2 to complain etc." i would like the ability to monitor my calls on the desktop and see what department the call is coming to and accept basicly a switch board on my computer im not too bothered about a desktop one this would cool although i would settle for a phone with flashing lites for diffrent departments , if possible ? ive also heard about VOIP phone systems using my internet would it be alot more reliable to use a phone line instead of internet , incase of brakedowns? Thanks for anyone that can help Gary.
Is there a service provider that offers cable through broadband? I currently pay for Cablevisions IO triple play package. It costs 29.95\month for all three services (cable, internet, and phone). My setup is a 42" LCD TV with surround sound hooked up directly to my computer with an RGB cable. My cable comes through the regular cable input. So it's easy for me to watch streamed content from places like hulu, youtube, and such without needing any extra pc card or splitters. What I want to do is cut costs of my services. I can buy broadband from another carrier (AT&T costs 19.99\month) buy a Magic Jack for my phone (39 and change\year). Is there a cable company that streams channels over broadband like the companies that use voip over the phone (magicjack/vonage)? I'm not looking for anything for free, just cheaper with no equipment to buy with a good range of channels. Does anyone know of such a service? Thanks in advance.
Does a USB to RJ11 Adapter segregate sounds? i.e. If making a call with Skype or any other VoIP, will an adapter allowing a regular phone to be used with a computer filter out other computer sounds? Can music be coming out of a PCs speakers while all conversation talk on the phone is music free? Is this something that must be setup within the VoIP program itself?

Should I have to pay 125 BT landline installation charge as a TENANT? Moving into new flat Monday... brand new modern furnisehd flat marketed to high end professionals... paid deposit to agency and was told that they'd have my BT landline setup, thojugh I might have to pay the initial connection charge and get re-imbursed by landlord later. NOW two days before moving in, I'm being told the landlord doesn't want to pay the connection fee though the agency is still trying to convince him. I'm not in a cable area, so evidently without a landline I can't get internet, VOIP, cable TV, landline phone service... nothing! I think it's ridiculous for ME to pay for landline installation when I'm only set to be a tenant for 6 months and hte landlord/all tenants after me get to benefit from this installation long after I'm gone. Do I have any rights here at all? I already paid my deposit to the agency, but this seems HIGHLY misleading... I'd be happy to just depend on my mobile, but it seems you need a BT landline for everything in England.

Trying to connect NETGREAR WNR834B to BT HOMEHub or Belkin Router? Well I am struggling for quite some time to establish a proper signal as well as getting my VoIP to work properly. I basicaly got 2 different questions: a) can I setup a NETGEAR Router to work via the BT HomeHub or a Belkin G+? If I understood correctly the Netgear is not a adsl modem as such but just a standalone router with wireless functionality. b) I got VoIP from BT and I am trying to connect my HP iPaq voice messenger 514 to this service so I can receive call by simply connecting it to a wireless internet point. Well if it would work I would be here, would I? :) I got all the setting from BT (sip, Proxy, registrar and URI etc. etc.) the only thing that strikes me funny is that in the setup assistant for the phone there is no field to name the URI information, but then again as I am not sure what that is for I don't know if it is needed for that purpose at all. Any tips would be very welcomed
How to set up a philips voip0801B/79 phone on xp? (this phone is connected by usb) I am receiving my broadband through exetel and have a billion BiPAC 5200G router. USB BlueTooth adapter performance: Are they all the same? I recently purchased a cheap USB Bluetooth adapter and entry-level Bluetooth headset so I can send & receive VOIP calls from my Windows laptop. Setup was very simple and this setup definitely works, but every time I talk to somebody they complain of extremely poor audio quality on their end (like a bad cell phone connection). Audio quality on my end is not perfect, but it is more than acceptable. I'm thinking (although I have no way to verify this) that the signal strength from the USB adapter is poor, and could be the culprit. I say this because I get far less range with this adapter than I do with my other PC which has integrated BlueTooth (using the same BT headset). Are all these adapters basically the same (performance-wise)? Is there an adapter or adapter/headset combo that will give me high audio quality both on my end and the caller's end? Anything that will rival the audio quality of a landline or good cell phone? Thanks in advance for your comments! John
