Free Voip Service Knowledge Base
Free VOIP service alternative to Skype? I am looking for free VOIP service that allows you to dial to phone from your computer. Skype is exactly what I am looking for, but it blocks 1-877 numbers. Does anyone know a service that's as good as Skype (quality and reliability), but allows dialing to 1-877 numbers? Free is ideal but I don't mind paying a fee for a good service. Thanks!
Is there any totally free VOIP services out there to call for free to land lines and mobiles in Australia? As we all know, Telstra, Optus, 3, all of them ping you for every little thing, if you even touch your mobile phone, there is a charge for it.....ludicrous. I have found several free VOIP services that are based in the USA that allow anyone to use it and make a free VOIP call from the computer to any land line or mobile inside the USA. (Works best if you have broadband of course) There has to be a backdoor to be able to use something to do the same here..... or has Telstra got their hands all over that as well? Thanks mates for any of your suggestions. I have been relentlessly searching for something for free for 2 years now.
Is Skype still the best free pc-to-pc VOIP service/choice for international calls? in particular to Brazil? I have had problems to talk to family and friends in Brazil through Skype - calling from USA. Sometimes I either hear some noise in the connection or there is some delay to my voice to get there or they receive broken statements.... In sum, it is pretty rare when we can maintain a good conversation. Therefore, I was wondering if there is a better free VOIP pc to pc service out there that is worth trying. By the way, I have a high speed cable connection while they have a 28-56Kbps Adsl one. Thank you for your help! :)

Which VOIP service offers the cheapest reliable calls from Philippines to Italy or the US? I've check out VOIPStunt. They offer free trial call is it true that it's really free or will it be charged to my phone because it was asking for my phone number aside from the destination phone. Also it claims that if I buy the 10 Euro credit I could call unlimited (no time limit) to the free destination listed (Italy and US were included) for 120 days. Has anyone tried this? I just want to be sure there isn't any other conditions or fine lines I've missed. Thanks for any information that may help.
Which VOIP services (free) can be used to call American Idol? I tried skype but it gave me an error message, something like 'this number is not formatted to work with skype.' So are there any other (free) VOIP programs that I can use that someone KNOWS will work to dial the American Idol 866 numbers? I know that there are some that can be used because on its own FAQ American Idol says they can. I just need to find one besides skype that will work. Additional information: I live in the U.S. and am calling a toll-free number within the U.S. I do not need information for overseas calls.

Is there a good free VOIP that provides Caller ID? I use Skype and really like it for free PC to Phone calls, but many people won't answer the phone if they don't know who's calling, and Skype calls show up as either unknown or 01234...or something like that. Does anybody know of another free telephony service that's good, but offers a Caller ID option? Yes, I forgot to add that Skype will start charging for PC to Phone calls to the U.S. and Canada, as of today, but if you pay for a year before Jan 18th--I think--it's only $15, instead of $30. Well worth it, but I thought that even with the Skype-In no. you still don't have a Caller ID option. I'll check on it again. Thanks for the info.

Is there a VoIP(phone-phone) service in the Philippines (PH) BUT w/ a PH telephone number and not a US number? I've searched and all I found were VoIP services in the United States in which people were given US numbers. We are planning to migrate to another country (specifically Canada) and is hopping that there's this VoIP service with a Philippine number instead of the usual US number so that our love ones here in the Philippines can call us for free and likewise. We're looking for a plan where there is unlimited talk time and not web calls like you can do in Yahoo Messenger. Thanks for your kind response!
VoIP? ? ? ? Are there any totally free computer to landline VoIP services? ?

Best Voip in UK (Buying it from UK or US)? I'm currently in the US, and going to the UK. I'm looking for a Voip service which can call the US and the UK for free, in addition to other cheap international (Lebanon, Kuwait) calls. I can buy the Voip service from the UK or from the US. Currently, I'm thinking of buying the Vonage service from the US. You can call through it any land line inside the UK for free but not cell phones. You can also call the US and Canada and other countries for free. I think it's the best deal till now. Could anyone please help me find out if there's a better deal for the UK. Thanks a lot in advance!
EXPERTS: please help: The only ISP in this place seems to block the VOIP services :(? I subscribed to a nice VOIP service (lowrate VOIP) when I lived in Germany. Now I moved to the Palestinian Territory and the greedy (and only) ISP in the "country" (who is sadly also the only telephone service provider, by the way) seems to have a block on VOIP services since I am not able to use my German Voip anymore (I keep getting this stupid message "Sorry: you are not allowed to make this call" everytime I try). My friends who traveled to other countries (like neighboring Jordan for example) were able to use their accounts there just fine. I hear that one can use things such as "proxy" to get around this blockage. I have never used such thing and dont even know how to use them or how to subscribe to them (not a computer guru, as u can tell). Also, is there cost associated with them or are there free ones? For the sake of freedom of choice, please advise!
what is voip tell me about it frm basic? i have heard that u can call free with ur cell through this how can i use this service?? what i need other than a broadband and a cell whom to contact?? who is the best voip service provider
VoIP local UK calls question? What VoIP service can I use where I could pay a fixed monthly fee for free unlimited local UK calls? Could I get a phone handset with it too?
Do you have any free trials of PC to Phone calling services when using Messenger 8.0? I'm not impressed enough with the quality of the PC to PC voice calling to pay for it and have used other previous versions of VoIP long distance services with limited success. That being said, I'd still like to try out the PC to Phone long distance calling but I don't want to pay the minimum $10 just to try it out. Is there any way to get a 'free' trial to test the quality of the voice and connection services?
Can I use two hardware SIP Phones to make free calls between India and Saudi Arabia? I want to make VOIP calls between India and Saudi Arabia. I want to know if buying two SIP phones (hardware) and placing one in each country will be enough to do this or do I have to subscribe for the VOIP service from some service provider who will bill me on a per minute basis? If the VOIP service provider is not necessary to make such calls, then will the calls made using only the hardware SIP phones be free? Douglas: Does skype offer hardware phones? PC to PC calling is free in Skype, but is hardware phone to hardware phone free? I know that calling to traditional PSTN numbers is chargeable in Skype. What about hard phone hard phone ? If free, where can I find the phones offered by skype? If at all, do they charge you monthly or yearly for the use of their service. I would like to add I prefer a free service, between to hard phones placed in different countryes. Douglas: Does skype offer hardware phones? How fast does your internet connection need to be to use VOIP with min problems? I have DSL that 1.5mbs. Is that fast enought to use VOIP and not run into alot of problems. I know you would have to be worried about both your up and down speeds. I have heard some say VOIP works great while others say that the service drops their calls or that they have poor quality. I am thinking about using VOIP to add an additional phone line to my small business so that I can call out for free as well in the US. Can I rely of the service or should I stick with a traditional land line? Also does anyone know of a cheap landline long distance placn?
Can someone explain the basics of VoIP to me? I'm not clear on what is free and what you have to pay for. Can I use Skype or some other VoIP to make a free call from my computer to another computer? If so, when I see the fee for monthly service, is that for calling people on their regular phone line?
