Is there any totally free VOIP services out there to call for free to land lines and mobiles in Australia? As we all know, Telstra, Optus, 3, all of them ping you for every little thing, if you even touch your mobile phone, there is a charge for it.....ludicrous. I have found several free VOIP services that are based in the USA that allow anyone to use it and make a free VOIP call from the computer to any land line or mobile inside the USA. (Works best if you have broadband of course) There has to be a backdoor to be able to use something to do the same here..... or has Telstra got their hands all over that as well? Thanks mates for any of your suggestions. I have been relentlessly searching for something for free for 2 years now.
Are there any other PC2Phone reliable services like VoIP Raider? Lets leave out Skype. I am more concered about good rates in International Calling, specifically Asia. Also, VoIPRaider has this feature where you can even do a phone to phone call at an extra 1/cent per call. So, I was wondering if anyone knows about any more services like these. Help greatly appreciated. Thanks.
EXPERTS: please help: The only ISP in this place seems to block the VOIP services :(? I subscribed to a nice VOIP service (lowrate VOIP) when I lived in Germany. Now I moved to the Palestinian Territory and the greedy (and only) ISP in the "country" (who is sadly also the only telephone service provider, by the way) seems to have a block on VOIP services since I am not able to use my German Voip anymore (I keep getting this stupid message "Sorry: you are not allowed to make this call" everytime I try). My friends who traveled to other countries (like neighboring Jordan for example) were able to use their accounts there just fine. I hear that one can use things such as "proxy" to get around this blockage. I have never used such thing and dont even know how to use them or how to subscribe to them (not a computer guru, as u can tell). Also, is there cost associated with them or are there free ones? For the sake of freedom of choice, please advise!
Does any VoIP services offer fax to email? I'm a sunrocket customer who is now looking for new service. Does any VoIP service providers offer fax to email? I would prefer one company rather than setting up an efax account along with a VoIP account. Thanks,
VOIP services that record calls? Are there any hardware VOIP services (i.e., services like Vonage that use a dedicated router, not ones like Skype that run through your PC) that can record all of the conversations on a line and offer downloads of each digitized call?
What is the best VOIP service for Malaysians? I would like to buy credits to use the VOIP service for calling out. I would like to know which one is the most recommended for Malaysians (such as Skype, Yahoo Messenger etc.) in terms of cost. The countries I would call are USA and Malaysia.

Is it possible to have better quality VOIP services from a GEOSTATIONARY satellite? Is it possible to have better quality VOIP services from a GEOSTATIONARY satellite? If that is not a possibility, what what should be done to get VOIP traffic on a Satellite internet connection? Are there any VOIP accelerators? or other expansion cards that will hardware process the VOIP packets in realtime? Have you heard of TACHYON? They provide VOIP over their satellite platform. How do they do that? They say that they have QOS enabled and some custom software??!! Most people say that it is not possible to have a good VOIP experience on SAT Internet. Yet they gurantee VOIP over SAT Internet!!
Do usb phones / headsets work with all voip services? I use yahoo voice and I love it, and I'm looking into getting a cordless handset and also a bluetooth wireless earpiece for my phone calls. I've only noticed very few voip phones that specifically say they work with yahoo. Does this mean that if it doesn't specifically say it works with yahoo voice, that it won't? For example, if I purchased a voip phone that says it "works with skype and other voip services" does this mean it will work with yahoo phone? Also, for bluetooth headsets and earpieces, will all of these work with my yahoo voice service? (Yes, my computer supports bluetooth.) Thanks in advance!
how do i get a chinese phone number for my voip service? i want to be able to give my frineds and colleagues in China a local phone number that will ring my VoIP phone in the US. This is basically the reverse of Yahoo's Phone in service where Yahoo offers US phone numbers to domestic and international callers via VoIP.
Our ISP has blocked ports like 5222, 443, 80, 5061, which are needed for VOIP services for yahoo calling.? Our ISP has blocked ports like 5222, 443, 80, 5061, which are needed for VOIP services for yahoo and other voip programs. So is there any means to unblock it from ourside. Or is there any other program that enables or redirects data through these blocked ports? Even I contacted Yahoo... See their reply below: We are currently receiving a feedback coming from UAE subscribers that the VOIP services were blocked by their ISP ( Internet Service Provider). This issue was caused by Etisalat (UAE's sole ISP) blocking ports required for VOIP application to work, and it's not limited to Yahoo! Voice alone, even other VOIP users are encountering this issue. Most ISP in UAE, like Etisalat, is most likely blocking the ports (80, 443, 5061) Yahoo Messenger needs for Voice services. Unfortunately, we have no control over this. For the service to work properly, you will need to ask your ISP to open the required ports. If unable to open the porst you may want to have a refund for your remaining balance, you can contact our billing department thru the email address provided below. http://add.yahoo.com/fast/help/us/messenger/cgi_messenger7_5 Select 'Billing Related' option from the "What are you having issues with?" drop down menu.
Can anyone recommend a VoIP software which I can use in my speech lab class using headsets on the computers? I would really want to use a software wherein I would be able to set up my own server and configure it in a class. I would also prefer freeware or service providers to provide simple but quality VoIP services. I'm planning just to have a voice chat connection with my student's computers in order to check them during our speech lab sessions. Thank you very much. Does anyone know a VoIP software capable on LAN? My class uses LAN. Thank you again!
I have Vonage VoIP service and it sucks, anyone know how to make it better? I have a decent DSL stream of 1.5 mbps and a pretty decent upload.....we have had Vonage for some time now and the service sucks.....the quality of the sound is bad, the line is staticy, very scratchy, cuts in and out....I tried to call and cancel but they put me on hold for 45 minutes only to tell me their account managers are gone for the weekend. Is there anything I can do? My DSL is pretty much at max speed? Are there better VoIP services out there?
Do you need a ROUTER to use VoIP services like Vonage? I've spent 2 days trying to get my new VoIP phone to work. I got a SB5120 Motorola modem (does NOT have a built in router) and a Linksys adapter for my VoIP service. It is not assigning an IP address... therefore no internet.... therefore no dial tone! I don't have a router, do I need one to make my VoIP work? Why? I was able to plug all the wires exactly where they needed to go.... don't understand why I would need a router. Thanks omg i know that. i have a cable modem... sorry I wasn't more specific. I have a very fast connection speed.
Can I use IP phones on my internal network without VOIP service? I need a pbx style phone system in my business but I dont have the funds for a traditional system. I have a wired/wireless ethernet system already installed throughout my business and was wondering if there was a way to use IP phones through the network internally without an outside VOIP service provider?
Suggestions for VOIP phone service to replace Vonage? I heard that Vonage is going bankrupt. I have service with them right now and LOVE the fact that I can have my cell phone simultaneously ring when someone calls my vonage number, and that if the internet is down, it will forward to my cell phone. Are there any other VOIP services that do the same thing?

What license do I need to start VoIP business? I want to resell VoIP service to my agents and want to start a calling card business. What are the requirements and what are the licenses I need. What govt and local agencies should I contact? Many thanks
Which VOIP service offers the cheapest reliable calls from Philippines to Italy or the US? I've check out VOIPStunt. They offer free trial call is it true that it's really free or will it be charged to my phone because it was asking for my phone number aside from the destination phone. Also it claims that if I buy the 10 Euro credit I could call unlimited (no time limit) to the free destination listed (Italy and US were included) for 120 days. Has anyone tried this? I just want to be sure there isn't any other conditions or fine lines I've missed. Thanks for any information that may help.

What do I need to make my phone jacks all operate on voip? I understand there is something I can plug into one phone jack and all the other jacks will become part of the network for VOIP. Anybody know what I need? The phone adapter supplied with the VOIP service will connect only one phone. Thanks for any help. Broadband service is DSL.

VOIP phone services? I'm looking for a VOIP company that works. I've had Vonage, Time Warner cable, and can't maintain a stable dial tone, which causes my internet to drop. I'm now looking at Power Phone.
Questions about VOIP Providers, Service, Quality, & Tech Questions? I'm considering changing my regular home phone service (phone co.) to Cable Telephone (Comcast) or possibly a VoiP service like Skype or Sunrocket. Comcast says a big advantage of their service is the battery backup which keeps the service available for 8 hours if power goes out. Otherwise I think it's just the same as having the regular phone service - no special phones, all extentions work, etc. Skype & Sunrocket are a LOT cheaper, but are they better? Worse? Some questions about VOIP services before I take the plunge: With VoiP will I totally lose phone service if my power or my internet connection goes out? Even though we have cable internet, sometimes it is really, really slow. How would that affect a VoiP phone service like Skype? I'm sure you'd lose service if power fails, or if your computer or modem craps out. Has this been a problem for you? Do all your existing extentions work? Is sound quality great? Other advantges or disadvantages? THANKS!!
Which VoIP phone service is good in Hawaii? I checked CallVantage and Vonage VoIP services but they don't support 808 area code (Hawaii). Does anyone is actually using VoIP service in Hawaii? I want to use my home phone equipment if it's possible.
Is there a VoIP(phone-phone) service in the Philippines (PH) BUT w/ a PH telephone number and not a US number? I've searched and all I found were VoIP services in the United States in which people were given US numbers. We are planning to migrate to another country (specifically Canada) and is hopping that there's this VoIP service with a Philippine number instead of the usual US number so that our love ones here in the Philippines can call us for free and likewise. We're looking for a plan where there is unlimited talk time and not web calls like you can do in Yahoo Messenger. Thanks for your kind response!
How do I make a Voip service work with my existing cable and router? I've been looking at VOIP services, and first let me say that while I do have cable services for my computer and tv, I don't want to sign up for the phone/puter/tv package through that company. So I'm looking at Vonage et al, and I see that I must connect a router to my cable to use them. We already have a router in place so that we can use our laptops throughout the apartment, and it's also connected to the desktop. So, I'm confused about how I would connect a VOIP phone to all of this. Do I have to use a seperate router, or what? Please don't respond if you don't have the answer. That'll save me from weeding through all of the muck to get to the real answers. Also if you can provide me with links that explain what to do, that would be so great. Thanks!
What ISP can I get to also get a VOIP service? Is there an moderately priced ISP DSL/Broadband provider that I can get out there so that I can start a VOIP account? Verizon has a monopoly in my area as far as I can see and they're screwing me as usual with costs & surcharges. So I would like to discontinue service with them & get seperate services. I live in So Cal/ 909 area code. Thank you to everyone so far. Maybe I didn't word my question clearly. I know how to get a VOIP, it's the internet service provider that I would need. See, I want to get rid of my Verizon land line. Which reasonably priced Internet Service Provider would I or could I get without a landline? Or other option would be a really cheap basic landline from a no-name company(but who?)
Is there any other VOIP service that allows you to use your existing phones in your house like Charter does? I am currently on Charter Digital Telephone (VOIP) and they issued me a Arris Touchstone Modem which allows me to use all of my existing telephone wiring and phones. Problem is though Charters' telephone service stopped working. I am in the 30 day trail period and was thinking of canceling and just opting to use either Vonage, Packet 8, ATT Callvantage, Verizon's VOIP service, or some other VOIP service but I was wondering which one allows you to use your existing house phones without doing any modding to the house phone wiring just simply plugging a telephone wire into any telephone jack like Charters touchstone modem allows you to. Anyone know of a VOIP service that allows you to use your exisiting house telephones?
VoIP service & faxing issues - can someone explain why? Hi, Can someone explain to me why there are issues with some fax machines using VoIP? This is really frustrating and I'd like to know when we can all expect these issues to be resolved. I have a VoIP phone and my new all-in-one machine can't fax or receive faxes because of my VoIP service. I'm really bummed about this. If anyone has any insight into why this is a problem and when companies will be resolving these communication issues I would really like to know. Thanks in advance!! I have an old fax machine (which is a stand alone unit and does not hook up to my computer) that faxes fine over my VoIP service but my new all-in-one, which does work with my computer, won't work with VoIP. Really frustrating as I don't understand why one is affected and the other isn't. I did install the software that came with my all-in-one. The manufacturer of my unit said they don't support VoIP for faxing at this time. I would like to know why faxing doesn't work with VoIP. My machine starts to connect, when faxing, but then I get a communications error. I don't understand why the two can't work together. What is the difference between a regular fax machine, which will fax over VoIP and my all-in-one unit?
VOIP service and home security alarms? My home security alarm monitoring service does not work anymore after I got VOIP service from vonage. I think the analog dialler in the alarm system is the culprit. Any ideas on how to make it work? I don't want to get another line from AT&T just for this (the switch to VOIP was to save some $$)

Free VOIP service alternative to Skype? I am looking for free VOIP service that allows you to dial to phone from your computer. Skype is exactly what I am looking for, but it blocks 1-877 numbers. Does anyone know a service that's as good as Skype (quality and reliability), but allows dialing to 1-877 numbers? Free is ideal but I don't mind paying a fee for a good service. Thanks!
VOIP service? Hi, Does anyone know of a FREE VOIP service that: 1) has free Canadian phone number / access # (Phone-to-PC) 2) has free outgoing calls (specifically to Canada) ( PC-to-Phone) and 3) works w/ a phone adapter? Thanks.
Vonage VOIP service question.? I currently I have Vonage VOIP service and I love it. Now, I'm leaving for Kuwait, and I want to beable to call my family. I will have high speed internet where I'm going and I want to leave vonage service at my house... what do I need to do to get Vonage service in Kuwait, so I can call my wife?
Best VOIP service to take to China (Shanghai). or just go Cellular? relocating to China, and need to get a VOIP provider as I'm hoping I can conduct business with a US telephone number. I keep reading that Chinese ISP's block VOIP service, so i do not want to get over there and have nothing. So we are considering using cells, but do not want to get jammed with outrageous costs, whats the best route to go?
Which VOIP service have you found most reliable? In terms of customer service, sound quality, and ease of setup. I have Time Warner VoIP right now, but am considering leaving because they are more than twice as much as the rest. I will be using a 5.0 Mbps cable connection. There are so many choices out there, I want to get as many opinions as possible. Both good and bad experiences would be most helpful. Thanks for your help. Serious replies only please. :)
VOIP Phone Service: Best Provider? I was a Sunrocket subscriber. Now that they're out of business I'd like to find another provider of VOIP service. Any suggestions? I certainly don't want a company that's going to drop their customers like Sunrocket did. I understand Teleblend is owned by the former Sunrocket company so I definitely don't want them.
Best Voip service to have US # in Argentina? (no computer)? I want a VOIP service like Vonage that is completely independent from the computer, and I heard Vonage is in debt and may go under. I need a US number to receive calls from people in the US. I have broadband already. Anyone having good luck a certain company? Companies to stay away from?
Packet8 vs Vonage??? Which VoIP service is better? I have had Vonage for about a year now and it sucks! I have a very fast internet connection and have tried everything, but the sound quality of calls is crap, the line cuts in and out, very jittery....people have suggested I switch to a VoIP service called Packet8 and I was wondering if this service is better than Vonage?
Have you used Voicepulse VOIP service? I've tried signing up with them twice, the first time they canceled my order and the second order is taking a long time to get activated. Is their VOIP service good? I wonder if they are going down soon like Sunrocket?
