Choppy calls using Vonage with satelite internet? I have hughes net with there max speed. I got a Vonage account and it don't work right. My download speed (tried an online speed test) is 1108 and the upload speed was 91. I'm supposed to have up to 400 for upload. Well Vonage told me to get another provider and Hughes diagnostics said it could be the network card on my computer, a virus, or to much activity on my computer. I ran a scan had no viruses, there are any programs running, I even adjusted my bandwidth and there was no change. The only thing left is the network card- I guess. I did find out that I had 842 dropped packets with the last speed test. Help- what do I do?

Does anyone have a class action suit againt Vonage that I can join? Their deceptive business practices and refusal to cancel an ORDER, not actual SERVICE, along with unauthorized extra deductions from my bank account is not acceptable and to me is out and out theft. I am wondering how many people have been ripped off by the company Vonage? There comercial says that any high speed internet will work, Wrong! They say they will refund your money if they get there stuff back in 14 days. Wrong!!!!!!!!!!! If you get your money back you are lucky. After you return there product then they try to charge your account 216.00 they have tried that 2 times that messes up the bank. Hughes Directv DVR and Vonage? I have a Series 2 Hughes Directv DVR (SD-DVR80) and I also recently got a Vonage account. I discovered after I set up my vonage account and dumped my old telephone company that my DVR is having lots of trouble making its weekly call using my local dial in number, unlike before I got Vonage. I am trying every dial prefix and call waiting prefix I can find on the internet without any success so far. I was just wondering if anyone else out there has had the same problem with this model and if you ever found a solution without hacking. I'd rather not do that.

If a client in China has Skype and we have Skype, is there any cost to call China? Should I try Vonage? We need to call a client in China and talk with them for about 45 minutes. I have Vonage VoIP service and it sucks, anyone know how to make it better? I have a decent DSL stream of 1.5 mbps and a pretty decent upload.....we have had Vonage for some time now and the service sucks.....the quality of the sound is bad, the line is staticy, very scratchy, cuts in and out....I tried to call and cancel but they put me on hold for 45 minutes only to tell me their account managers are gone for the weekend. Has anyone experienced problems with Vonage? When using my Vonage, I always have an echo in the background. Can this be fixed? Problems faxing with Vonage? Recently set up a Vonage Business account with phone, toll free and fax numbers. I have a Linksys Wireless-G router and a HP LaserJet 3050 all in one machine. I finally have my Vonage phone numbers working well but I am having trouble sending and receiving faxes. Most of the time it dials, connects and after a page or two I get a COMM error. It happens both when sending and receiving. Sometimes I get a "no fax detected" message. Anyone know why this might happen? I tried clearing all saved faxes out of the memory and that didn't work. I can fax from a land line number so I don't think it's the machine. Oh yeah, I have a T1 Internet connection. Any help would be appreciated!

Can I make multiple outbound calls using 1 VOIP account or will I need 1 VOIP account for every phone? I plan to sign up with vonage unlimited, 1 acct. NEED HELP!!!!!vonage? I need help!!!! I was using vonage and changed to different company..on july i send my new company every form to authorize to get my phone # from vonage..and they got my # as of july 20.. I thought it would close the account automatically at vonage...but i just realized now that they were charging me every month.. i called them and they said they can't refund my money because they can't check on every single person.. they told me the # is not active but the account is still open so they can't refund any money..they told me i have to talk to my credit card company whether they can do anything which i don't think not..anyway I closed the account today and the worst thing is they charged 2 days ago again and I asked for that at least and they said they can't because I have to call the day of the billing cycle...is there anyway i can do??? PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!

Has anybody had a negative experience with Vonage, I have!? Only after I was given a password I was able to read the Vonage policy, with which I disagreed completely, I decided to cancel immediately, on the same evening I ordered it, and requested my money back (49.95). I was told that there was now a cancellation fee of 39.95. Also they sent the device to adapt to the telephone only the day after I cancelled, which means that I have to send back and pay for this myself (as per Vonage) for the return of something I asked not to be sent to me, and will not be refunded everything for days. The cancellation fee is not mentioned at all in the policy. I am forced to keep the account open for 60 days, unless I pay this cancellation fee. Also, I cannot refuse the shipping which I expressely asked them to cancel, because then, they will not be sure that I sent it back, and I will be charged for it. I am told I will be refunded later, that it will take several days, until I have paid for the return of the device. it takes 14 days at least for verificati

Anybody else have problems with Vonage? As in customer Service. I moved from PA to CA and was told that they would suspend my account till we reactivated it and it would not cost us anything. Well when go to reconnect it they are tring to charge us all kinds of crazy fees for reconnecting and they gave us the ost horrible customer service. Now I have nothing against Call Centers from India but the people whom I had to deal with here were horrible and because it I canceled Vonage and will never deal with them again no matter how cheap they are. Morris I had to tell them because we no longer had the same bank, so the card that we used to pay them would be no good. So in order for them to get thier money i had to let them know, plus i didnt want to get billed for the month that we wouldnt have thier service.

What are the telephone carrier services listed for the 21662 zip code? Please include best vendors for telephone services in the area. I am interested in data regarding AT&T, 1-800 Reconex, Vonage and Verizon as vendor possibilities. Since Cingular Wireless is now AT & T , if I have a cell phone account with them, are there any discounts for a land line account? Is there lack of privacy using Internet Phone Service such as Vonage or CallAdvantage? Hacking? I know that computers and email accounts can be hacked into. What about this type of phone service? Can the same happen? Can someone access my phone calls, or find out who I've called and vice versa?

Vonage is taking my money? Vonage shipped an equipment that does not work on my computer since july of this year and i'm trying to make them stop withdrawing money from my account but they continue to do so. I have not been able to use there service because i the wrong equipment but they are not doing nothing about it. What do i do about this?

Vonage help -- orange blinking light? Hi there, I just noticed an orange blinking light on Phone 1 on the Motorola device thing for my Vonage phone, and I was wondering what it meant? My phone doesn't work -- when I picked it up, instead of a dial tone, there was an automatic voice telling me that my port was plugged in incorrectly and I should check the status of my account. My port is fine and so is my account. Of course, this morning, I was banging the device on the table because ants had hid in there. It was like a nest in there, and it was the only way to get it out. Could the ants have done something to it? Or my banging? And what is this orange blinking light? Thanks for your help. :)

VONAGE problems???anyone??? I signed up for Vonage last year...and I have been trying to call Vonage for 2 months now to cancel my services. I get asked a whole bunch of questions and then they ask me why I want to cancel my services..I told them that I no longer want the services..I also told them that I have been trying to cancel for 2 months and that I want reimbursted for the last 2 months from direct pay from my checking account. They said that they can NOT refund my 2 months reimburstment however...they can keep my services for 2 more months free...then disconnect...does anyone have a hard time trying to disconncet from vonage? I went to bank...and they told me that since it was a debit card...they can not cancel it...that I would have to go through vonage.

vonage is a scam!? Everything Started when I decided to switch my phone provider to Vonage in june 25. I will disclosed all the charges: 1 connection fee 9.95 - when I asked if Vonage was compatible with my internet provider clearwire they said yes. And is not true. 2. When attempted to call and cancell before it was too late they promised send a wi-fi phone no charge to give a try and promise it will work. Not true it was a lie. 3. After spending over more than two hours new device worked for one hour only. 4. call to cancell only had to call in business hours their dept. that handles cancellation was closed. 5. Got an authorized charge for aprox. $66.00. Called to disputed, no help at all. Only rudness and my call was disconnected eventually by one of vonage representatives. After spending over one hour on the phone. 6. Sent an email to their corporate offices they said they do not have any records of all they promises and said I had to pay the shipping and handling to return their device and if I wanted to close account with them had to pay $95.00 for a service I was never able to use. Plus 19.30 in shipping and handling. 7. total charges 190.25 for a service I never received and bad customer service. This company is a scam and I think all american consumers should be aware of this.

Vonage problems? I signed up for vonage and they promised my old phone number would be transferable and they gave me a free trial and stuff 2 months later still my phone number wasnt transferable so i cancelled my account and sent the device back 4 my money back garantee thing they said u have 2 wait until april something to cancel ur accont and avoide the cancelation fee so i waited and for no reason i was charged 3 more times for the device and service i never had? and i payed about 100 dolars for no reason and each month is a different amount of money charged from my credit card what should i do

Vonage ripped me off.? I cancelled my Vonage service because I am moving to an area that does not offer broadband. They charged my bank account for May anyway. They told me the charge was pending my bank account before I had the phone shut off. They told me that they won't reverse the charge or credit my bank account. Then one of the three people I was trying to discuss this with told me that my charge was for the past month and not the following month. I stupidly believed her. But I guess she lied, I looked in my records and found that the day I signed up I paid for the following month and every month subsequently BEFORE the month occurred. So not only did they rip me off a payment, they lied to me to get me to stop asking for it back.

Thinking of Vonage ? THINK AGAIN !? I ordered vonage last week. Took over an hour and a half to set it up and was never told of a $40 disconnect fee if cancelled before 2 years of service. So as soon as i found it i called to cancel and then i am told there is also a $40 equipment fee charge until they recieved the equipment back which would be 2-3 weeks. So it ends up to be over $100 charge on my bank account and i have never even connected the service (when the equipment arrived i refused it) SAVE YOURSELF THE HEADACHE

VONAGE HELP! I signed up 2 weeks ago and after 8 phone calls and 2 vportal adapters I still have no dialtone.? I only just got my internet to work through the adapter by entering ip address and all other info manually but I still have no dialtone and keep geting an error code 3 after error code 6. Everytime I call them they tell me what to do and they are sure that will fix it. My ceel doesnt work at my house though so I cant call them from home. Online my account says active and shows my phone#, but on the adapter under status it says line not set up no phone number, but it is set up and I do have a phone number. Please help, no one from vonage has been able to.

Has anyone had problems with Vonage phone service? I tried transferring my phone service to vonage. They never sent me the device I need in order to get incoming calls. We can make outgoing calls but all of our incoming calls go straight to voice mail so no one can get through. Also I went into my online account with them and tried forwarding my calls to my cell phone and it won't. I'm not sure why. I followed the directions as written and still nothing. Everyone that tries to call here is getting very frustrated that they are not able to get in touch with us for the holidays. I called vonage on Nov 2-2007 to get the service and waited two weeks to get the phone device. No one from the Vonage network called our house to let us know that UPS sent them a notice saying that they had the address wrong. I have an invoice from Vonage that has the correct address. That invoice was sent to me on Nov 2-2007 via email. I have since then called Vonage on two separate occasions to cancel my service. Still no refund and no cancellation. HELP!

Been ripped off by Vonage? I applied for phone service then changed my mind and cancelled service by e-mail and by phone within 3 hours. They later activated the account, shipped the equipment, and gave me the runaround on multiple calls and e-mails. All I want is a refund of $69. They are proposing to refund me only $19, after deducting activation fees and taxes! I'm considering filing a class action lawsuit.

Sick of yahoo messenger spam messages.? If I am offline or online I get spammed with yahoo messenger messages. I click on report as spam if I am online. If I get offline messages, I click on the message to bring up a window with just 1 message at a time and I click on report spam. I think the people who spam me messages are just guessing my user name, but if they are not I want to know where they are finding my yahoo messenger user name. I noticed a while back I got a invite in my email to join a yahoo group so I went there and said do not allow that but still I think people are just guessing. If not where else might my info be that I didn't elect proper options. Anyone have any ideas? btw I do not use my yahoo user name anywhere not here even besides my vonage account since it is just my email address with out the @yahoo.com part as vonage assigned it to me.

Voice messages to my phone are left on my physical phone, not my vonage account. What do I do? Just got vonage, and the vonage voicemail worked initially. Bought a new phone and programmed a message for it, but now the messages are left on it and not my vonage account. Looking for a Canadian VoIP company that supports t.38 protocol? Hi all, Currently have a business account with Vonage. A main line and a fax line for about $60 CAD. However because Vonage does not and has no plans to support t.38, I am having problems with fax. I need a company that is available in Canada that supports t.38. Preferably one that supports BYOD, I am tired of this locked devices. Basically: -need t38 -BYOD (preffered) -main line (North America plan (1000 mins or more) / fax line -pref around $70 CAD ideas??? Asking too much?? However they do not have a Fax line along with their regular package. I will have to sign up for 2 accounts that would make it expensive. However about your fax problem may not be fixed simply by T.38 being supported. You will have to use t38modem in order to take advantage.

Why cant my wife or I get our home computer to log into yahoo mail? I am able to get to Yahoo, Vonage, Verizon, etc home web sites. When trying to go to "mail" or "sign in" with account name password etc, I get the typical microsoft "The page cannot be displayed" message. Vonage phone service,has anyone had problems with them? I called to see what I would have to pay to disconnect my service. I DID NOT ask for the service to be disconnected put just wanted to know what the cost would be. Next thing they have charged my bank account with a disconnect fee. can a company take money out with out my OK? we have vonage and they never told us that they would be taking money out of our checking account. How can I broadcast that Vonage telephone company is a fraud? Due toVonage's phone quality, I have switched to Verizon and kept the phone number, and they made my account active because I was in a year contract. I called so many times and every time I called, their customer service rep. told me different stories. One said I can disconnect the service right away and others said I can't. They even told me after the contract is over, they cannot refund the credit that I have in my account. I called again after 5 mos. and they can cancel it, but ask me to pay the penalty for $40.00 because the last day of the contract is tomorrow. Ebay Problem - Use negative feedback, SquareTrade, or Item Not As Described process? I recently purchased a Vongage router from someone on Ebay. Before the sale, the seller assured me that their account was paid-in-full and the device had been removed from the account. I have EBay messages documenting this. Well, the device hasn't been cancelled. In fact, it still works - using the previous owner's phone number! Needless to say, Vonage won't switch a live, uncancelled device to my account (nor should they). I sent a message two days ago to try to resolve the issue and have not received a response. It appears EBay has three different ways I can try to resolve this, and I wondered which one(s) are the best to use in my circumstances: 1) SquareTrade dispute resolution/mediation. 2) Item not received as described report. 3) Send negative feedback. How can I obtain the IP address of the broadband modem for a particular Vonage phone number? Someone used my credit card fraudulently to open a VOIP account with them a couple of days ago.
