How well does Broadband phone service work? I'm considering Vonage Broadband phone service and would like opinions....
Is Vonage phone service any good if you also do a lot of downloading via your broadband ISP? I tried using a temporary number assigned by Vonage to make a call while I was downloading a file and it sounded terrible.
I need anyone having luck with their Vonage phone service to let me know what kind of phones they use.? Did you get the free phone adapter they offered? Direway .98 2watt Broadband Internet Service DW7000,this should work right? Confused?
Where can I get cheap broadband cable and what are the steps necessary to switch my AT&T service to Vonage? Right now I have a dial-up internet connection and a phone bill through AT&T that exceeds my budget these days. I've been hearing alot about Vonage service so what I would like to know is the most inexpensive route to acquire a broadband cable connection (I do not subscribe to a cable company and I prefer not to)? Then, after I acquire the broadband what are the next steps towards the ultimate goal of reaping the Vonage benefits? (Can I just call and cancel my current phone service through AT&T?) Whom could I contact to successfully connect my internet via broadband cable?
Anyone know how to setup a VT2142 router with satellite internet connection for Vonage phone service? I have spent multiple hours with tech support. I need answers from "real" people! I can't get this setup to work. I have Trango broadband dish and a tiny little modem box. I have a VT2142 router from Motorola, sent to me by Vonage. I can't make it work. Last tech guy I talked to said maybe I need to override the MAC id on the box to match it up to the router? It's all Greek to me. Help anyone??

How fast of Broadband service should I have for Xbox Live? I live in a pretty rural area and I have very limited options for Broadband. Anyway, I'm taking the plunge, and I need to know what kind of speeds I should be looking for. I will be running a highspeed connection for one PC, my Xbox 360 for live, and 2 Vonage phone lines through the service. I kind of know what I need and where I should be for the PC and the Vonage, but I don't really know how much bandwidth I need to have, to run Xbox Live without any lag, keeping in mind the PC and 2 phone lines may be active at the same time. My options are as follows. 380 KBS download 128 Upload 765 KBS download 256 Upload 1 MBS download 300 something upload 3 MBS download 1 MBS upload 6 MBS download 2 MBS upload 9 MBS dowload 3 MBS upload I've surfed for years with just a dialup connection, so I don't need the fastest thing in the world, but I don't want crap either. I just don't want to pay for way more than I need. Any help? Thanks
what is the least expensive/best..1) phone service 2) car insurance 3) broadband internet service? what is the least expensive/best... 1) phone service? I keep hearing commercials for vonage saying it is only $24.99/month for unlimited nationwide calls, but is that really the best/cheapest? Anyone know of any that are cheaper? 2) car insurance? I keep hearing that geico is the best/cheapest overall. Anyone know if this is true? 3) broadband internet service? I keep hearing commercials for netzero, which is only $9.99/month. But is that for broadband, or just dial up? Is it the cheapest? Also, one more question 4) if my father has an outstanding balance on his credit report with Verizon, will he still be able to get phone service with another company? I need to know the above because my father and I may be getting into a mobile home, and if we do I should like to have the least expensive services so we can save money. Also, I am 21 and still can't drive, but I would like to have the least expensive insurance in the event I learn to drive.

What is the best IP telephone service for broadband on the market ( not talking via a computer)? Services that you can hook into your existing telephone system in your house and use regular phones( You hook the router phone port to outside demark box and can use your existing phones to make calls via high speed VOIP. Question concerning Vonage? I currently have Verizon DSL. I was thinking about getting Vonage. I went on there web site, but I got a little confused at one thing! It said that they require a broadband connection. What does that mean? I did have Comcast Service, that was broadband. Does that mean I have to call Comcast & have them reinstall the internet just so I can have Vonage phone & internet service? So I would have to pay for two services?? Also, I have satelite now. So, how would I hook up Comcast broadband with having satelite? Please help me ~ I am SOO confused!!! Okay, I did some more research! I need to pay $30. to keep my verizon internet, but not the phone service. Plus pay $28. to Vonage to have phone service. Is this correct?? Because if it is, that really doesn't make much sense! I'm trying to lower bills, not make them more!!
What are the requirements of house arrest regarding a home telephone? Specifically, with the advent of new broadband internet phone services such as Charter Telephone, Comcast Voice, Vonage, etc, are these being accepted as home phone services by probation offices? Or, are you required to get the "Normal" old-fashioned type of telephone service? He's not been sentenced to house arrest yet, so I haven't heard that there will be a no-internet restriction. Otherwise, why would I ask the question I did. I know that if we can't have the net we can't have a broadband phone. Duh.
Is there a service provider that offers cable through broadband? I currently pay for Cablevisions IO triple play package. It costs 29.95\month for all three services (cable, internet, and phone). My setup is a 42" LCD TV with surround sound hooked up directly to my computer with an RGB cable. My cable comes through the regular cable input. So it's easy for me to watch streamed content from places like hulu, youtube, and such without needing any extra pc card or splitters. What I want to do is cut costs of my services. I can buy broadband from another carrier (AT&T costs 19.99\month) buy a Magic Jack for my phone (39 and change\year). Is there a cable company that streams channels over broadband like the companies that use voip over the phone (magicjack/vonage)? I'm not looking for anything for free, just cheaper with no equipment to buy with a good range of channels. Does anyone know of such a service? Thanks in advance.

VOIP Phone services in INDIA? Hello All I'm looking for VOIP Telephone Service in India, something exactly like Vonage do. They just issue a phone set, phone number and VOIP adapter and thats it. I don't want a PC to be running like we have to using Skipe & Stanaphone. All I should require is a broadband connection at my home. I would just hook up my VOIP adapter to my broadband and the phone will work like any regular phone. The catch is, if I buy a VOIP system here and hook the same adapter in India then I'll have a US working number in India. Now anyone from US can call this number just like a local number. Now, I want reverse of this. A Indian phone number working in US over VOIP so anyone in India can call me on that number. If you know of any such system existing in India, please reply. Any information is highly appreciatred.
Has anyone experienced these issues with Vonage? At any point in time during a telephone conversation, my audio drops and I can hear the other party saying "hello...hello...are you there?" The audio only on my end drops for anywhere from 10 to 30 seconds. I tried their bandwidth saver and then I was on the phone with India for 3 hours a few nights ago. Neither tech 1 or tech 2 could figure out the problem. Both had me go through the same tests. My broadband service is working fine. Vonage has shipped a new device but I have not received it yet. However, I don't have positive feelings that will solve the problem. If anyone has experienced this, please let me know what the root of the problem was. Thanks. John S...have 4 different phones and one's a land line but it's a good idea...will take out phones one at a time and see if it works. Ibet L. Talking about Vonage VoIP (landline) service but thanks for the thoughts.
Is there a device which can change an existing analogue phone landline into IP and trasport over the internet? I have a existing landline in a country where there are no IP phones like vonage; want to transport it over the internet to say the UK; Is there a device/service in which I can plug my landline, plug a broadband connection and can use the landline anywhere over the internet?
My cable internet gets disconnected for some random reason.........Help plz? I have comcast cable internet service. My comcast modem SB5101 is connect to the router (linksys DI-524) and also to the broadband phone (Vonage). This problem start even before I connected the modem to router and broadband. My internet connection gets disconnected for unknown reason. Once it gets disconnected I have replug it again. Timing for disconnecting is random, sometime it stays connected for weeks and sometime only for 5 min and sometime it gets disconnected when I receive any call. I called the comcast service and they troubleshooted this from their office and they said that their computer is showing no problem with the connection. I also asked geek squad and they have no idea either. So plz help any response will be greatly appreciated..thanx
Vonage ripped me off.? I cancelled my Vonage service because I am moving to an area that does not offer broadband. They charged my bank account for May anyway. They told me the charge was pending my bank account before I had the phone shut off. They told me that they won't reverse the charge or credit my bank account. Then one of the three people I was trying to discuss this with told me that my charge was for the past month and not the following month. I stupidly believed her. But I guess she lied, I looked in my records and found that the day I signed up I paid for the following month and every month subsequently BEFORE the month occurred. So not only did they rip me off a payment, they lied to me to get me to stop asking for it back.
Why does my internet say "Limited or No Connnectivity" when trying to use VoIP? I just purchased JoiPhone (similiar to Vonage, etc). I have followed the step-by-step instructions to the T. My internet connection speed at this moment says 100.0 Mbps. Once I connect the JoiPhone equipment, the connection decreases to 10 Mbps and says I have limited access to the internet (when in reality I have no access). What is causing this to disable my internet? How do I make this stupid phone service work? I obviously don't have a phone to call tech support. I am using Atlantic Broadband Cable Internet.... I've never used VoIP before and know nothing about it. I have powered down all devices including my computer 4 times already. I made sure that the ethernet cables are in the right places and everything is connected securely. Thanks for any advice. thank you. I don't have a router, I am plugged into my cable modem. once i plug into the VoIP adapter, i lose internet connection, it can't find an IP address. I will have to call them tomorrow, thanks.
I am looking to reduce costs an streamline in a few areas.? I currently useCable for my High Speed Internet, and Direct TV for my Satellite TV. And am thinking of using VOIP, Cable cor my phone service. Here are my questions: 1. How does Cable compare to Satellite TV with High Definition? Better? Worse? 2. Has anyone used VOIP, Telephone service over a cable connection? Comcast? Vonage? Any others? Does it work as well as a regular phone service like ATT? 3. Is DSL Broadband as good as cable? A fast? Both would have the same 6 MBPS. Any thoughts on any or all would be appreciated... Thanks....
How to secure the voip (vonage) router which is connected to the primary netgear router.? I ve got a voip service called vonage which comes with a wireless router. This must be connected to Lan 1 of the Netgear router which provides internet so I can make phone calls through internet. The problem is that I do not know how to put a wep key to the vonage router(DLink) so that no one else can have access to my internet connection. Notice that the Netgear Router has an encrypted key and it comes with Virgin Broadband. However even if the first is encrypted the second is unsecured and anyone can have access.

Will the TiVo Wireless G USB Network Adapter work with my Dynex Enhanced-G Wireless Broadband Router? ? About 5 years ago, my boyfriend won a Series 240/Series 2 Tivo and free service for the life of the machine. We now have Vonage and cannot connect the Tivo to the phone line. I need a solution that will allow us to use the Tivo again. I have a wireless network because of the Wii and want to know that if I purchase the TiVo Wireless G USB Network Adapter, it will work.
unlimited VOIP calling plan from USA to Bangladesh cellular? I am currently living in Bellevue, WA and I am looking for a plan that offers unlimited calling to Bangladesh cellular (to warid network specifically). I can see Joi phone offers a “worldwide premium” service plan but that only gives me 800/month to Bangladesh cellular. Vonage for example has unlimited calling plan to Bangladesh (Dhaka, Ctg) land lines but so far I haven’t seen any plans for unlimited BD cellular. So, if anyone know of such a plan please email me with the details. I have Comcast broadband. thanks, Hasan
