In these two months the service has been really bad...cutting off the conversation and whe i try to make a call it would say....sorry no service at this time pls call the customer service. I would use my cell phone cause even when calling customer service it just take a long time to talk to an agent. VONAGE customers I have a question about the service....? Just signed up with vonage and even though I don't live in kentucky right now (I'm about 800 miles away)...I signed up for a kentucky number anyway because Im from kentucky and it would be more convenient for my family to call me if i have a kentucky area code. Has anyone ever done this before? Are there any possible complications from doing this?
Indian or Filipino customer service representative? Which do you prefer? It has been known that several US companies are outsourcing call center jobs to few countries like India and the Philippines. If you call companies like Apple Mac, Dell, Earthlink, Vonage, AOL, etc. your call shall most likely be routed to either an Indian or a Filipino representative. Racist answerers, do not bother to answer the question please.
What sorts of charges are Vonage customers getting? I'm looking at changing phone and fax service over to Vonage from the company I'm using now. Extra charges are killing me by adding another $50 a month to the bill. To all the Vonage users out there, does Vonage have a lot of those extra charges as well or are they fairly moderate in that area?
Can I just Try Vonage? So, We got the free 1 month vonage flyer in the mail today. I read up and I know that it requires broadband and connects to your modem. So I was wondering if I could just see what vonage is like and keep my landline (windstream.) Would that bring up a cancelation fee if I didnt like vonage? What would I do? I don't want to be stuck argueing with Vonage's poor customer service. Thanks. I'll give 10 points to best answer
Why do companie like Vonage say they have a "FREE TRAIL PERIOD" and charge you after? I tried out Vonage had horrible Customer Service because no one could understand me from my lines sounding so digitally messed up. So I canceled service with them. Now they are charging me $60.70 for a disconect service in the "FREE TRAIL PERIOD" I hate Vonage and I would thank who ever take up arms agaam um. They need to be taken off the face of the planet. So would any of you do my dasterdly bidding as I sit here and rum my hand with diabolical laughter? Sorry I foget to use spell check. Shadowkat I had the device for 3 weeks I don't think I passed any dead lines. In three weeks I could not make or recieve calls I had to use my cell phone to contact them in order for them to try and fix the problem I spent 300 minutes on my cell with no luck. Then to top it off the money back guaruntee never happened and then I got charged $60.70 I was offered 2 months free but why would I want to be masochistic and drive my self crazy for 2 more months when I was tortured for 3 weeks Sound to me that you may work with them since you put in all thier little copy rights http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=66YhnjHXpy4
What is the best VOIP, besides Vonage? I use Vonage now and they have been horrible with customer service and still have not ported my number after 49 days. There has to be a better company out there...
is it true (vonage phone service)? well ive heard that u hear echos in the phone and they have really bad customer servise that some people didnt get there old phone nunbers. which should i believe? can people hack into ur phone through the internet to ur phone? just silly ? i guess but is the reception any good.
How does Vonage work? What services do they have to buy from other companies to provide customers with phone service? Just an internet connection, or do they have to buy minutes from someone in bulk?
Anybody else have problems with Vonage? As in customer Service. I moved from PA to CA and was told that they would suspend my account till we reactivated it and it would not cost us anything. Well when go to reconnect it they are tring to charge us all kinds of crazy fees for reconnecting and they gave us the ost horrible customer service. Now I have nothing against Call Centers from India but the people whom I had to deal with here were horrible and because it I canceled Vonage and will never deal with them again no matter how cheap they are. Morris I had to tell them because we no longer had the same bank, so the card that we used to pay them would be no good. So in order for them to get thier money i had to let them know, plus i didnt want to get billed for the month that we wouldnt have thier service.
Is Cox Digital phone service an internet based phone service? I get lost in the wording on their website right now and their customer service phone # closes at 9p.m. We have had magic jack (totally sucks! major thumbs down there) and are needing to have some kind of internet based phone service where we can make unlimited long-distance phone calls all day long for our at-home business. Any feedback, comments, suggestions, etc. on Cox Digital phone service? On a side note, Vonage is our last resort right now. Please just advise on Cox if you have any info. pertaining to it. Thanks!
Which ports should I forward for VoIP phone service? I signed up with VoIP from Vonage since their prices were significantly cheaper and it seemed like a quality service. While I still had Vonage, I obtained a Belkin wireless N-draft router. I wasn't aware of the interference issues that wireless routers have with 2.4gHz phones, so, at the time of switching to VoIP, I purchased a 6.0 DECT phone. After switching to VoIP, I've had nothing but problems. Callers can't hear my voice and vice versa, call quality is very choppy, and on top if that, the only customer service that VoIP has is through a public message board. They have a number to call, but from what I understand, it's automated only. Anyway, I worked out with one rep ports to forward through which calls are made/received. This worked for a day or two, now it's back to its old tricks. Please reference this page (http://forum.voip.com/viewtopic.php?pid=35096#p35096) for information on the steps I've already gone through. Might it not even be a port forwarding issue? Thanks I've tried the modem -> phone adapter -> router. Please click the link in my original post to read the message board thread between myself and VoIP.
vonage is a scam!? Everything Started when I decided to switch my phone provider to Vonage in june 25. I will disclosed all the charges: 1 connection fee 9.95 - when I asked if Vonage was compatible with my internet provider clearwire they said yes. And is not true. 2. When attempted to call and cancell before it was too late they promised send a wi-fi phone no charge to give a try and promise it will work. Not true it was a lie. 3. After spending over more than two hours new device worked for one hour only. 4. call to cancell only had to call in business hours their dept. that handles cancellation was closed. 5. Got an authorized charge for aprox. $66.00. Called to disputed, no help at all. Only rudness and my call was disconnected eventually by one of vonage representatives. After spending over one hour on the phone. 6. Sent an email to their corporate offices they said they do not have any records of all they promises and said I had to pay the shipping and handling to return their device and if I wanted to close account with them had to pay $95.00 for a service I was never able to use. Plus 19.30 in shipping and handling. 7. total charges 190.25 for a service I never received and bad customer service. This company is a scam and I think all american consumers should be aware of this.
Did you know that Vonage was booted by the Better Business Bureau ? How many people are aware that the BBB has revoked Vonages membership? Quoted from BBB report: "BBB Accreditation Status: On March 27, 2007 this company's membership in the BBB was revoked by the BBB's Board of Directors due to failure to respond to one or more consumer complaints filed with the BBB." Personally, I have never used Vonage and thus do not have an opinion about their service. I think VoIP is the future of land-based phone comms, but I think the VoIP companies (all of them) have a long way to go when it comes to customer service and resolving customer complaints. What do you think? Vonage!!!! ***Please Help*****? Okay, so I get Vonage 3 days ago. Now my phone dosen't dial out nor does it recieve calls! This is horrible! I don't know what is going on. Then I have this equipment I need to connect and that is not working because I don't understand the instructions! I don't know if my phone is disconnected or not...I have no dial tone and I can't get intouch with their wacky customer service.......any one had the same experience? What actions did you take?
I have Vonage as my voip carrier. Everything works fine except....? when I go to open the voice mail, it takes a minute or two to open ( slower than dial up ) also the same is true when I click on to download a message. I've spoken to customer service a few times and they tell every thing is ok with their system, but the last time they said it had to be my computer which I can't believe because it's almost brand new and has no other problems opening or downloading any other programs. Does anybody have a similar problem or problems with this or have any other issues with their Vonage voip.I can't believe I'm the only one.I'm truely thinking about getting another voip carrier, any suggestions?
Anyone in the Philippines who are communicating with their family/friends in USA through Vonage? I'm interested in trying Vonage's promo: http://www.vonage-promo.com/?kw=gvp4+vonage%20promo&gclid=CMa18aWwu5ECFQMsFQod9i8qCA but I'm a little bit hesitant of the phone service and the cost of the subscription after the promo. I want to have an idea of how this works before I call the customer service because I heard they try to talk you into getting some other plan (which is more expensive with a per minute charging) and I don't want to get trapped :) Of course it's better to hear firsthand feedback from clients than customer service/advertisements' candy coated words. Oh and also, if you are not using Vonage, what VOIP are you using? Benefits? Maraming salamat!
No dialtone with Vonage? I am trying to sort this out through the customer service, but I don't know if they really have the right answer. My phone adapter has, for the past few days, been acting really weird. Sometimes, the ready light is green, sometimes it blinks yellow. Whenever I turn on the handset, the "In Use" light comes on, but the ready light goes off and there is no dialtone. They think my power supply is busted, and are going to replace it. Sound right? Anyone else ever have this problem? I need my Vonage T__T I live in Germany, and can't call home without it costing an arm and a leg without it.
Should people do business with AT&T? I called AT&T and ordered DSL. AT&T told me in order to get DSL I would have to get rid of my Vonage service and get an AT&T phone line. I did this, they came and hooked the phone line up but I did not get the DSL modem in the mail. I called to see where it was, and AT&T told me they had canceled the DSL order because it was not available in my area at this time. Meanwhile Vonage had charged me $97.14 to cancel my service. When I called AT&T requesting they pay me the $97.14 I felt they owed me, their service representatives were very rude and condescending. At this point we have not been able to speak to anyone above a customer service representative. We were told a manager would call us, but nobody did. We have been told they do not have any kind of conflict resolution department. We have been told they cannot give us the number of someone at the corporate headquarters. Mail just arrived with a large bill for phone hook-up fees.
Having trouble with Vonage.? It won't let my husband fax. We have tried restarting the computer, seeking customer service but it won't let it send a fax.
How can I broadcast that Vonage telephone company is a fraud? Due toVonage's phone quality, I have switched to Verizon and kept the phone number, and they made my account active because I was in a year contract. I called so many times and every time I called, their customer service rep. told me different stories. One said I can disconnect the service right away and others said I can't. They even told me after the contract is over, they cannot refund the credit that I have in my account. I called again after 5 mos. and they can cancel it, but ask me to pay the penalty for $40.00 because the last day of the contract is tomorrow. I've really had it with this company and suggest everybody not to do any business with them.
Has anyone used Qwest VoIP service for home phone? I just saw that Qwest is offering a VoIP service for residential customers. $39.99 flat rate for local and unlimited LD. Not sure what the big draw to this is, as you can get $29.99 home phone w/ VM, Caller-ID, Call Waiting, and can add unlimited LD for $5-$20 depending on the bundling discount. Shouldn't VoIP service be much cheaper? Heck, T-Mobile offers it for $10 and Vonage for $25. Why choose Qwest? Does anyone know?
VOIP or other Phone Solution In China? I am American and I run a small business in Shenzhen, China. I also have 3 Americans that work for me here in China. My customers in the US need to constantly contact our office via phone. Currently I have a skype phone, and my customers contact our office by calling a US phone number but it is routed to the skype In number that I have. The problem is that skype in is very unreliable, and it is killing my business. About 30% of the calls dont even come in. I have tried vonage and lingo and the quality is not good enough. I have also used a service called www.telcan.net, which provides me with a toll free number, that is routed to my LAN lines in China. This is also unreliable as around 20% of the calls also end up being dropped. My question, is there a solution out there which will allow my customers to dial a US phone number which will allow me to reliablly receive phone calls at my office in China. Any help would greatly be appreciated as my current situation is frusturat
Mpingi Suck..? It's a totally chennai based company who try to cheat the customers exactly same like any indian company. Such a worst service I ever had in this country. I ordered my device and waited for 2 months to get the device. After I got the service they took 2 days to activate the service. And still I couldn't able to call my indian mpingi no for more than 2 weeks after that they given a series of dial-in nos just like a phone card to call my indian mpingi line. None of the tollfree nos works in this device. I cancelled the service after 3 weeks of miserable experience. The company claims me to charge more than 100 dollars. I would suggest you to choose any service other than mpingi, its a nightmare. Please dont get yourself in to trouble. I got a vonage its really great, I called one day evening and got the device next day. I just plugged the device its started working amazing. No fake stuffs like Mpingi. I know couple of friends who use packet8 and they are also happy with their service.

Vonage no dial tone? I've had Vonage service for over 4 years and been happy. I've moved once and changed my ISP twice with no problem. The last time I changed my ISP, however, my Motorola ATA broke. Vonage shipped me a new one free. No dial tone. After a few calls with Customer Support, they shipped me another ATA free. No dial tone. After three customer service calls, I thought I would try here to see if anyone has any ideas. I have tried/verified the following. - Internet and router functions of ATA work. No dial tone. - Power light is solid green. - I have replaced phone, power suppy, all cords, and ATA at least once. - I have tried various network configurations. With router, without router, router behind ATA, router in front of ATA. No change. - Validated that my network connection is fast enough. - Used the vonage website to change which LINE port the ATA uses. - Rebooted the network many, many times. Again, no dial tone. Internet works. Any ideas? -->Adam

Vonage: Good Idea, Bad Idea? I've been thinking about cancelling my cell phone and get Vonage. It seems like a really good idea (cheaper, lots of great freatures, free router). But of course they don't put negitive comments on their website, so I wanna know, from real people if Vonage is a good idea. Would my laptop be slowed down by phone usage? What are common promblems you've had with the set up, phone, customer service, and their 911? Is it true that their 911 doesn't automatically send you to you're local 911 emergency line? And if you did have any probelms were they easy to fix, did you have to battle Vonage, or did you just cancel it all together? Any feed back would be sincerly appreciated, thanks!!

Who Hates Vonage?!? So I recently had a terriable experience with Vonage. After spending an hour on the phone with them, being transferred to five different departments, as well as five useless people -- I decided to stay. Still, my Vonage phone doesn't work and I can't set the thing up for the life of me. I follow the directions -- I talk to tech support and its a big no go! So a week or two later I try and cancel again, since I keep paying for something that is not working. They won't let you quit. They try the redirecting me a hundred times and finally I cuss and say just terminate my service already -- charge me the friggin 40 dollar termination fee. Then he comes back and says they're going to charge me $90 on top. *Sigh* Needless to say -- I'm not happy. I want to warn you all that Vonage has the worst customer service and they'll charge you too much money to cancel. After googling Vonage, I read hundreds of complaints on the same thing -- plus their service is bad. I wish I had read these prior to ordering the stupid thing. Heed my warning -- do not get Vonage! It is not worth it -- trust me! That's all! Kiss my ass Vonage!
Okay, farming out customer service questions to India....and everywhere else..? this is REALLY starting to get on my nerves......we recently signed up for Vonage,,,,,,,, AND...have had a citibank card for years......I have had problems that I neeeded to be addressed and in both cases got someone I could not understand...I am sick of saying I am sorry I can not understand you and feeling guilty for doing so, the last call I finally said I NEED to speak to someone who speaks english that I can understand and I did get transferred.........finally.....the smug customer service rep said to me you could have asked to be transferred any time to someone from the states.....!!!!!!!!!!!.........How do you feeel about our calls being transferred to other countries?......and just so you know,,,,,,,with regard to citibank, I was, and stress WAS with them for 22 years.........thoughts?........thanks......I am sorry I am just ugly right now after an entire day of bad service.
Did you know ViaTalk is also booted by Better Business Bureau? I am a big fan of VoIP and VoIP communications. But when it comes to customer service issues, they area really losing the battle... In 2007, SunRocket went belly-up due to financial reasons. So, ViaTalk took over SunRockets drowning customer base. Now, I see that ViaTalk, as well as Vonage, have both been ejected from BBB accreditation list due to excessive unresolved complaints by customers. I have never used ViaTalk or Vonage, and thus have no personal opinion on their customer service record. What is your opinion on the state of the VoIP telecom industry? (Especially when it comes to customer service issues...)
