Packet 8 Protocol Knowledge Base
Packet Sniffing? Well I'm trying to find out if my personal network is vulnerable. Basically I found out that packets are sent in clear text if there isn't type of encryption. I'm currently using Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy. In my college they use Tera Term and the telnet protocol. I don't know much about Packet Sniffing but I herd that you could use a packet sniffing program while on the Tera Term program and you can capture the packets and since there are in clear text you could get all that information. What I want to do is see if that's possible at my house I'm on a wireless network at my house so I'm guessing that its even more dangerous. So if someone could show me the way to a tutorial or explain it to me how its done and what program to use to see if this is true! I'm not looking for someone to tell me that this is true but as to I want to see it myself. Thanks and hope you can help on this!

2 questions about networks, plz help :)? hi everyone, i would be soooo thankful if you help me... i searched but i did not find the answers... 1- Internet control message protocol(ICMP ) messages have a type and a code, and contain the first 8 bytes of the IP datagrams containing the error ... why do they contain the first 8 bytes?? 2-in the datagram(packet) fragmentation, we have lines of information (the header), each line is 32- bits... the second line -i think - we have length, ID,fragment offset, and flag... why does the (fragment offset =packet size / 8) ??
