How can my Vonage phone display a Toll Free number as my caller ID when I make calls? I do have my own 1-800 number from tollfreelive, and I want that to appear when I make calls. I think Vonage has a toll free number service, but it is only limited to 100 minutes and very expensive.

Windows XP home Vonage Device for voip: Motorola VT 2142 Im using Bitcomet/Utorrent and getting slow speeds. ports are not open. I narrowed my problem of getting slow download/upload speeds down to my vonage modem/router device. When I unplug it and just use my cable modem, it goes fast and the ip or connection thing is not blocked. Once I attach the vonage device it shows the port is not open and cant connect. Now, I went to the site www.portforward.com, they have a guide on it, I went and did exactly everything they said. Many times might I add, and I didnt make any mistakes. I found the port number, added it to the port forward options in the vonage device, saved and checked. Still the same. Why is it set to foward the port but not doing it? thank for the help

Vonage phone system and web access problem. Anyone know how to fix it? I recently installed vonage d link vwr on my pc. It was a gift from family in the usa. I wired it up in the way specified in the booklet. The phone worked perfectly, but when I tried the internet I could not get access. I tried typing cmd in run and typed reconfig in the dialog box, but when I clicked ok, the next line read c\documents and settings and it made no difference. Who Hates Vonage?!? So I recently had a terriable experience with Vonage. After spending an hour on the phone with them, being transferred to five different departments, as well as five useless people -- I decided to stay. Still, my Vonage phone doesn't work and I can't set the thing up for the life of me. I follow the directions -- I talk to tech support and its a big no go! So a week or two later I try and cancel again, since I keep paying for something that is not working. They won't let you quit. They try the redirecting me a hundred times and finally I cuss and say just terminate my service already -- charge me the friggin 40 dollar termination fee. Then he comes back and says they're going to charge me $90 on top. *Sigh* Needless to say -- I'm not happy. I want to warn you all that Vonage has the worst customer service and they'll charge you too much money to cancel. After googling Vonage, I read hundreds of complaints on the same thing -- plus their service is bad. I wish I had read these prior to ordering the stupid thing. Heed my warning -- do not get Vonage! It is not worth it -- trust me! That's all! Kiss my ass Vonage!

Vonage Help! Recording on phone line- Anyone else had this issue? I got vonage two to three weeks ago and have been for the most part happy with my service. I got to cleaning the other night and disconnected my vonage box just to untangle the lines. Since I reconnected I have not been able to get my line back. I have gone through all the online support and my installation trouble shooting-nothing seems to be working. The vonage motorola box shows that it has power and is connected to the internet. But the phone line does not light up (unless you try to use the phone). They have a technician coming on the 16th of this month, but this is my only phone line so I was hoping maybe someone has had this problem before and may be able to help. Why does my Vonage phone dial random phone numbers? I have contacted Vonage about this numerous times and have been unable to receive any help from their technicians in New Delhi. My Vonage line is calling random phone numbers in the area where I live. At least once a day I get a phone call from someone saying that my phone number has called them. They are able to recite my number perfectly. These people also say that the line is dead when they answer it. VONAGE problems???anyone??? I signed up for Vonage last year...and I have been trying to call Vonage for 2 months now to cancel my services. I get asked a whole bunch of questions and then they ask me why I want to cancel my services..I told them that I no longer want the services..I also told them that I have been trying to cancel for 2 months and that I want reimbursted for the last 2 months from direct pay from my checking account. They said that they can NOT refund my 2 months reimburstment however...they can keep my services for 2 more months free...then disconnect...does anyone have a hard time trying to disconncet from vonage? I went to bank...and they told me that since it was a debit card...they can not cancel it...that I would have to go through vonage.

Vonage no dial tone? I've had Vonage service for over 4 years and been happy. I've moved once and changed my ISP twice with no problem. The last time I changed my ISP, however, my Motorola ATA broke. Vonage shipped me a new one free. No dial tone. After a few calls with Customer Support, they shipped me another ATA free. No dial tone. After three customer service calls, I thought I would try here to see if anyone has any ideas. I have tried/verified the following. - Internet and router functions of ATA work. No dial tone. - Power light is solid green. - I have replaced phone, power suppy, all cords, and ATA at least once. - I have tried various network configurations. With router, without router, router behind ATA, router in front of ATA. No change. - Validated that my network connection is fast enough. - Used the vonage website to change which LINE port the ATA uses. - Rebooted the network many, many times. Again, no dial tone. Why doesnt my vonage phone work if i connect a wireless router with it? I have DSL internet from AT&T and vonage phone. I had a belkin router b4 and it worked fine, My belking router is broken now so i bought a new netgear wireless router. right after 5 mins i connect my router to the DSL modem and the vonage modem, my internet and my phone dont work anymore. vonage is a scam!? Everything Started when I decided to switch my phone provider to Vonage in june 25. I will disclosed all the charges: 1 connection fee 9.95 - when I asked if Vonage was compatible with my internet provider clearwire they said yes. And is not true. 2. When attempted to call and cancell before it was too late they promised send a wi-fi phone no charge to give a try and promise it will work. Not true it was a lie. 3. After spending over more than two hours new device worked for one hour only. 4. call to cancell only had to call in business hours their dept. that handles cancellation was closed. 5. Got an authorized charge for aprox. $66.00. Called to disputed, no help at all. Only rudness and my call was disconnected eventually by one of vonage representatives. After spending over one hour on the phone. 6. Sent an email to their corporate offices they said they do not have any records of all they promises and said I had to pay the shipping and handling to return their device and if I wanted to close account with them had to pay $95.00 for a service I was never able to use. Plus 19.30 in shipping and handling. 7. total charges 190.25 for a service I never received and bad customer service. This company is a scam and I think all american consumers should be aware of this.

Vonage Virtual Number? Hello, I just received my Vonage Motorolla VT2142 phone adapter and installed successfuly. I can make a call (outgoing) but when I tried to call my virtual number to test it I always get busy signal or Im just simply get dropped. My number is still in the process of being transferred at this time. Even If I call my number the number of being transferred I don't get any ring from the regular phone I can hear only the ringing from my cellphone. And also I can surf the internet with no problem, by the way here's how I connect my phone adapter, Internet/cable modem/router/phone adapter. I have a D-Link DI-604 and I dont see any of the firewalls are blocking the phone adapter. I hooked up evertything ok. Why my virtual number is always busy, maybe its not activated? I was using vonage and changed to different company..on july i send my new company every form to authorize to get my phone # from vonage..and they got my # as of july 20.. Ok, To Vonage, or not to Vonage ??? Just relocated. have no phone service, and Im tired of payong $60 a month for a phone I hardly use. I dont really need to call other countries, but I will have to call my mom in Michigan. Has anyone had problems with Vonage phone service? I tried transferring my phone service to vonage. They never sent me the device I need in order to get incoming calls. We can make outgoing calls but all of our incoming calls go straight to voice mail so no one can get through. Also I went into my online account with them and tried forwarding my calls to my cell phone and it won't. I'm not sure why. I followed the directions as written and still nothing. Everyone that tries to call here is getting very frustrated that they are not able to get in touch with us for the holidays. I called vonage on Nov 2-2007 to get the service and waited two weeks to get the phone device. No one from the Vonage network called our house to let us know that UPS sent them a notice saying that they had the address wrong. I have an invoice from Vonage that has the correct address. That invoice was sent to me on Nov 2-2007 via email. I have since then called Vonage on two separate occasions to cancel my service. Still no refund and no cancellation. HELP!

How did you solve your Vonage problem? I've recently purchased Vonage (VOIP) service. However, I'm finding it to be unreliable. After some research and discussion with Vonage support, I have isolated the problem to my network router (Netgear). If I connect the Vonage system directly to the internet modem, the voice quality is great. However, if I connect it behind the Netgear (so that I can share the internet with my computers) the audio quality is poor. I've attempted to disable the firewall, assign a DWZ all that. No change. Is the only solution to buy a Vonage router? Thanks.

Problems faxing with Vonage? Recently set up a Vonage Business account with phone, toll free and fax numbers. I have a Linksys Wireless-G router and a HP LaserJet 3050 all in one machine. I finally have my Vonage phone numbers working well but I am having trouble sending and receiving faxes. Most of the time it dials, connects and after a page or two I get a COMM error. It happens both when sending and receiving. Sometimes I get a "no fax detected" message. Anyone know why this might happen? I tried clearing all saved faxes out of the memory and that didn't work. I can fax from a land line number so I don't think it's the machine. Oh yeah, I have a T1 Internet connection. Any help would be appreciated!

I called vonage and explained the situation (again for the ninth time) and they asked me repeatedly why I want to cancel my service...and kept asking me about different options for services...I told them I don't want services which part of no don't they understand?! they said that we owe them a bill of 90 dollars I told them we owe them NOTHING! anyone having similiar problems? I am going to contact the BBB. Perhaps, who all has problems with Vonage should contact BBB. Let's all team up and get in action!

Vonage phone service? Has anyone had any experiences with Vonage. Currently I only use my cell phone but would like to get a home phone line....I read something about the unlimited local/long distance calls do not apply to cell phone calls from a Vonage line.....

How to set up Vonage with 2 phones? well, basically my mother is not technologically enabled at all and the vonage device needed reset today while I was at school and she messed it all up. We had had it set up so that we had a phone in the kitchen and one in the computer room where the vonage device is and it always worked fine. But she unplugged some stuff and now it's all shot to hell. I tried steeing it back up exactly as it was but when i do there's a quiet dial tone and a whole lot of scratchy noise and whatnot on the line. Vonage only tells you how to set it up so that you have one phone connected directly to the device, but when I do that the kitchen phone will not work. Does anyone know how to set up vonage so that you can have more than one phone?
