Differences between VoIP phone serivce and your local phone service?
I am wrting an essay on compare/contrast and need input on the two phone services. Like Southwesternbell local service compared to Vonage VoIP phone service. cost,quality,multiple phone lines, and customer service

- I have heard both good and bad. Cost: of course VoIP is lower. Quality: depends on the how the networks are structured. As for customer service here is a very good board to read. http://chris.pirillo.com/blog/_archives/2005/3/15/437045.html
- I have 2 lines through Sun Rocket. Cheap ($200.00 a year per line) but the customer service is one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a company that expects your money. Had some problems when it was first hooked up but has done fine now that the bugs have worked out. My biggest complaint is that they sold me a line for a fax machine. After working on almost every day for three weeks I still cannot receive or send a fax on this line. My best advice is if you get it, be sure you have a land line and use the Vo1P as a backup.
