Voip Comparison

I make business calls to the uk from the US. Is VOIP service quality as good as a landline call?

Also, do you get a better quality of service with VOIP business plans compared to residential plans?

  1. I work at a company that uses VOIP quite a bit. Quality seems to be as good as a cell phone. There are occasional dropped calls, static on the line, etc. But it's not so often or so bad that the company will stop using VOIP. My neighbor has residential service because of family members working in Europe and Saudi Arabia. Quality is on a par with the service I have at work. I have nothing to back this up but my gut feeling. I don't think quality would be affected by type of plan. Doesn't seem logical to have two separate networks set up. That would be like having separate undersea cables for landlines. One for business and one for residential. I think the different plans would offer specific management tools geared for businesses vs. residential. Here's a sample of what AT&T offers: http://www.corp.att.com/voip/ Hope this helps. plrr
