Voip Comparison

Anyone a vonage user?

my family is thinking of switching to vonage....resonable, and cheap.unlimited local calls Is Vonage a provider like AOL, netzero, peoplePC, etc? If yes, does vonage need a land line like verizon and AT&T? If yes, does that mean I pay both AT&T for using the line and vonage for provider? example: phone service will be 24.99(vonage) + AT&T service so far I'm using my neighbor's internet with my USB wireless adapter but we planned to have our own.

  3. Vonage is a VoIP phone service for making phone calls over Internet. You require a separate high-speed Internet service first. It doesn't matter who or what type, as long as it is high-speed Internet. It can be cable or DSL Internet service. And, of course you pay whatever that Internet service costs each month. Once you have highspeed Internet, then you can sign-up with Vonage (or any other VoIP phone service) for your Internet phone calling service. And, of course you pay them a separate monthly fee. so, its Internet service + VoIP service fees. If you get DSL Internet service then you may be paying: Regular Telephone + Internet + VoIP (Vonage or whoever)
  4. no, I use cable and it's cheap I think it's like $15.00

  7. I would never choose Vonage, because they just spend to much money on advertising and have to pay so much on fines because of using patent they dint own!! there not really that cheap either!! with all the fees and taxes over 34 dollars a month!! They are trying to turn a profit so first thing to go in a budget is not operations essentials, like advertising... Even with all of the settlements out of the way they are still gonna have a hard road ahead of them. They also just lost appeals for the Verizon or sprint get them mixed up th ehave to pay an extra 40 million in th settlement. well over 300 million total to date in settlements but the big 4 are buddies now with Vonage so we will see... Actually I think a friend like vonage is exactly what packet8 needs. Once there gone then cable and PSTN are going to find a new target IE
