Who Hates Vonage?!?

So I recently had a terriable experience with Vonage. After spending an hour on the phone with them, being transferred to five different departments, as well as five useless people -- I decided to stay. Still, my Vonage phone doesn't work and I can't set the thing up for the life of me. I follow the directions -- I talk to tech support and its a big no go! So a week or two later I try and cancel again, since I keep paying for something that is not working. They won't let you quit. They try the redirecting me a hundred times and finally I cuss and say just terminate my service already -- charge me the friggin 40 dollar termination fee. Then he comes back and says they're going to charge me $90 on top. *Sigh* Needless to say -- I'm not happy. I want to warn you all that Vonage has the worst customer service and they'll charge you too much money to cancel. After googling Vonage, I read hundreds of complaints on the same thing -- plus their service is bad. I wish I had read these prior to ordering the stupid thing. Heed my warning -- do not get Vonage! It is not worth it -- trust me! That's all! Kiss my ass Vonage!

  1. sorry to hear that, but if choosing any broadband you gotta do your homework before.....I did, and I had seen so many unhappy ppl....
  2. AHHH! I HATE IT TOO!! DO NOT GET VONAGE!!!!!
  3. Well, I didn't read the fine print, nor did I do any research. Now I am paying for it. I just got this service 3 days ago and I don't have a dial tone, nor can I recieve any calls and the customer service reps are horrible........I want to cancel so bad!
  4. I've tried warning people plenty of times, VOIP of any kind isn't ready for residential use. There is to many problems that these companies haven't addressed. They just advertise cheap rates and disregard any if not all of their downfalls. A few of the problems I know that they can't do anything about are power and connection issues. If you loose power or your internet connection drops. You are basically hosed, no phone service at all. Now the customer can help with the power issue by buying a UPS (Uninterupted Power Supply) but that is niether address or seems to be a concern with VOIP providers. I can keep goin on and on about the downfalls of VOIP but I will stop before it gets to long winded. If anyone wants to know more feel free to email me. One other thing, Conventional Telephone switches usually have anywhere from 97-99% success rate in service when you look at VOIP it drops down to around 90%.
  5. I TRIED TO GO THROUGH VONAGE BUT DIDN'T QUALIFY. I CAN'T REMEMBER WHICH OF THE 2 QUESTIONS IT WAS, OR EVEN WHAT THEY WERE. ANY WAY, I DECIDED TO GO WITH EMBARQ, AND THEY HAVE GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE NOT ONLY ON THE PHONE, BUT WITH THE "VIRTUAL ASSISTANT" YOU CAN CHAT LIVE WITH 24/7 ABOUT ANY PROBLEM YOU'RE HAVING. (ICON IN YOUR TOOL BAR) IT'S GREAT, AND THEY HAVE ALWAYS BEEN FRIENDLY AND FAST WITH ALL OF IT. I HAD A PROBLEM A FEW DAYS AGO AND THE GUY CONTINUED TO MONITOR MY DSL AND INTERNET READINGS FOR 4 HOURS AFTER I GOT OFF THE PHONE WITH HIM, AND THEN CALLED ME BACK TO MAKE SURE IT WAS OK. THEY'RE MY HOME PHONE COMPANY (GREAT PLANS) LONG DISTANCE PROVIDER, (UNLIMITED FOR 15.00 A MONTH) AND INTERNET. I'M GLAD I READ THIS BC I STILL HAD VONAGES' NUMBER IN CASE ANYTHING HAPPENED. (IT HASN'T) IN THE TRASH IT GOES. THANKS SO MUCH.
