Why does my Vonage phone dial random phone numbers?
I have contacted Vonage about this numerous times and have been unable to receive any help from their technicians in New Delhi. My Vonage line is calling random phone numbers in the area where I live. At least once a day I get a phone call from someone saying that my phone number has called them. They are able to recite my number perfectly. These people also say that the line is dead when they answer it. I recently moved also and none of my vonage equipment was hooked up nor did I have the internet but my vonage calls were being forwarded to my cell phone. Even without the vonage router or anything hooked up I was still having calls forwarded to my cell phone from people saying that my vonage number had called them. Has anyone heard of this or can anyone help?

- Yes, I experienced the same thing - or something very similar. I would check my call log, on Vonage's web site, and find that it was regularly logging calls - in- and out-bound - at times when nobody was even home. In a few instances, calls were logged at date/times that hadn't happened yet. Worst were the angry calls in the small hours of the night, from people wanting to know why I just called and woke them up! Vonage assured me that this couldn't be happening. (they're in Canada, by the way, not Delhi - though they do seem to employ a surprising number of Indo-Pakistani tech support people) You'll get a lot more help if you can persuade them to connect you to Level 2 support.. but they're only there at certain times of the day :-} Just some of the many reasons that I got rid of Vonage
