Will Vonage ever make unlimited international plans like JoiPhone?

JoiPhone has unlimited plans to international mobile, will Vonage do that in the near future? If no, then why not? What is there to lose but attract more customers?

  1. That's a question that probably needs to be directed to Vonage direct. It is typical for mobile rates in many countries around the world to be much higher than landline phones. Those rates are controlled by the specific countries mobile carriers. And mobile rates do tend to be much higher than landline rates. Even JoiPhone puts footnotes on their plans pages stating: "If cellphones are not listed they are not included." And if you look at their plans, "very few" of their destinations actually say "mobile" is included. All that said, JoiPhone does appear to have good rates. And, Vonage is getting a bit overpriced in my opinion. (Especially Vonage Canada - much higher than Vonage USA). I think it is going to be very tough for Vonage to stay competitive with other similar VoIP services. Mainly because of their high costs these past couple years for legal fees for fighting law suits over patent rights and penalties for legal proceedings and infringements. It's a tough go for Vonage these days...
  2. They might, to stay competitive with these other VoIP provider who are offering international mobile plans already.
  3. not sure that is something someone is the vonage company may know. it may attract more customers but your bottom line will also be reflected as international calls cost more to route good luck
